God as ‘Other’, Though in the image we are made, Infinite, No place to be found, Does not exist, No boundaries, Does not stand out, Nor a Being, Just necessary existence and being, The mother of all creation, Yet genderless, Infinite light, Beyond space and time, Without form, Though upholding all things Sinking into the void of non-being held back.
Infinite love An ocean without boundaries, Unending, Also ‘Other’ this love. Stronger than death, The mind cannot comprehend, Our pious mutterings ignorance, Our understanding of love paltry, Self centered at the best of times.
The weak, Those who are broken and heavy laden, Whose path is dark, Cold, Lonely,
The abused, The outcast, These are the great ones before the infinite. Souls sculpted by the ravages of life, They bare the wounds of Christ, Pursued by that which is beyond glorious.
Cruel is seems infinite love, Unrelenting, it its journeying in our depths, Sharing in our pain, anguish, and failures, Love is one with the beloved, The depths merged Oneness often forgotten by the finite Seeking without what it already possesses Understanding I have little, I grope and question, Sometimes doubt Yet Faith in God’s love A gift I do have, That no darkness can take away, Such is the grace of faith. Those outside are no less pursued or loved, Their life’s journey more hidden, Obscure, Yet nonetheless real. Failure part of the journey, Struggle yes, Darkness for sure, Pain a plenty, Yet God’s love enfolds it all, None are apart from the embrace. Such is infinite love, ‘Other’. |
